USB relay controller
The motivation behind building this device is unclear, and so is its operation... The design is painfully simple, though: grab one FT232, add two 16A relays, and voila - you are done.
The Story
Well... almost. Due to some unexplainable reasons, the device doesn't start properly about 50% of the time, i.e. FT232 seems to just hang. I've tried adding delayed-reset circuits, etc., but to no avail. It's possible that the current spikes from the big relays are confusing it (despite using ferrite beads and coil reverse diodes). I don't own the device anymore, so I can't do any more research on it; any other theories on why it wasn't functioning properly are just speculations.

P.S. It would have been cheaper and easier to use an Atmega.
